Sunday, Oct 12, 2014, Cornerstone Park, Twenty20 Semifinal:
On a cold and rainy day, Fort Collins CC won the toss and elected to bat. Dhiren and Jay struck early to dismiss the openers, Naveen and Omar respectively, by the 3rd over. Gopal and Dipal scored in the 20s but none of the other batsmen could muster any significant runs. Balanced, tight bowling and good fielding by Littleton restricted FCCC to just 82 all out by the 20th over. Prateek led all bowlers with 3 wickets. With the skies threatening to open at any moment, Dhiren (50*) and Dharam (25*) made sure that Duckworth-Lewis did not become a factor and raced to the target in the 10th over, giving LCC a convincing 10 wicket win.
In what is becoming a monotonous repetition, Dhiren was declared Man of the match for his superb all-round performance. With the victory, LCC entered its seventh consecutive CCL final, dating back to the 2011 Twenty20 Knockout tournament.
Littleton plays Front Range CC for the Twenty20 Championship on Sunday, Oct 19th at Cornerstone Park.
